GUIDEBOOK TIPS:     A great “mum & baby friendly” place to go and a staple for mum’s in St Albans. There is both a “formal” dining area and an informal café area with big comfy sofas and space for pushchairs and prams. The food is good quality and value. Quite often a hoard of mum’s in there during the day in the week and a regular haunt for many, the beech house has a relaxed and informal atmosphere. In the winter, you can also get lovely and toasty next to the log burner in the large seating area. For the informal sofa area, food is ordered at the counter but then brought out to you at the table and the menu is the same as for the formal table-service area.
