I’m a first time mum currently on mat leave in Wandsworth, southwest London, and have set up @mum.about.town to share ideas of parent and baby activities in my area. We are so lucky to live in London as there are so many fun things to do with little ones!

Favourite places to eat: Konnigans Restaurant on the Old York Road in Wandsworth Town has a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere and has a wide variety on their menu… it’s the perfect place to have a coffee as well on a sunny day as you can watch the world go by.

We also love Cafe Fleur for its yummy lunches and the East Hill pub for a delicious Sunday Roast.

I also must mention the Debenhams Cafe in Southside Shopping Centre… I recently featured their baby-food warming station on my Instagram – I’m really impressed by their baby-friendly facilities which makes it a great place to meet with other mum friends.

Favourite places to go : We are fortunate to have Wandsworth Common on our doorstep which is a wonderful place for a stroll – there is a duck pond, a great playground and the lovely Skylark cafe which does delicious cakes!

We also love Wandsworth Park with its great views across the river and Fulham Palace which has frequent family-friendly events making it a lovely place to spend a summer’s afternoon.

Favourite places to shop for your little guides: The Northcote Road in Clapham is nappy valley central with a huge choice of baby shops… my favourites are JoJo Maman Bebe and Joules. Seraphine sells great maternity wear for expectant mums.

Favorite classes or groups: I love taking my little one to baby classes and we have particularly enjoyed Hartbeeps and Teddy’s Tune Time in Wandsworth.

For mums, Baby Bounce postnatal exercise class is great fun – you can do a proper workout and bring your baby along too!

Any other local tips?: We spent a lovely afternoon with our NCT group taking footprints of our little ones at Mini Potters pottery studio in Earlsfield and we also really enjoyed attending a Bach to Baby classical music concert for babies in Southfields. Wandsworth really is a fabulous place to be a new mum – there is so much to do locally as well as being a stone’s throw from all the museums in central London.
