Airport – UK

Hopefully these airport tips help. This includes all the family facilities available to you at UK airports. Please let us know if there are any more tips we need to include. Anything to make a journey easier!


 

London & Surrounding

Heathrow
  • Changing facilities can be found in each terminal before and after security.
  • Most of the changing areas also have baby feeding areas as well.
  • Terminal 2, 3, 4 & 5 all have play areas. In Terminal 2 the Stay & Play is found in the 2A departure lounge, near gate 16. In Terminal 3 there is a family lounge, a children's quiet room, a game zone and comfortable seating. This near the Ted Baker store, past security, and you just need to follow signs for Lounge A. In Terminal 4 the Stay & Play is on the way to Gates 1 - 6 and in Terminal 5 it is in the 5A lounge, near Gate A7. 
Gatwick
  • Changing facilities and feeding rooms can be found in the check in area, en-route to the gates, in the transfer area and after passport control. Some of the toilets also have changing tables.
  • 'Kid zones' can be found in the North & South terminals. These are free and have play areas and a TV. In the North Terminal this is located on the lower level, to the left of Dixons, in the departure lounge. In the South Terminal this is located on the upper level, near to the escalators and Dixons, in the departure lounge.
London City
  • Changing facilities can be found in the toilets next to Cafe Nero and the toilets next to Pilots Bar. There are also ones by Gates 5 & 23.
  • The baby feeding room is by the arrivals check in area before security.
  • The play area is between Gate 5 & 6 in the terminal. The airport also will provide a fun pack containing activities, a pack of cards and a set of crayons. Just ask a member of staff after security when you enter the departures lounge.
Stanstead
  • Baby changing can be found in departures in Zone a and Main departure lounge. Other locations include Gate 13, Gate 33/34, Gate 43, Gate 59 and Gates 81-88 (Only for ladies). In arrivals they can be found near reclaim 1 and main arrivals greeting area. 
  • Baby feeding area can be in the Main lounge.
  • There is no longer a dedicated play area at the airport.
Luton
  • Changing facilities are in all toilet areas.
  • There are no dedicated feeding areas. Booo!
  • There is a play area near Gate 10.

 

Southend

  • Baby changing facilities can be found before and after security.
  • There are no dedicated infant feeding rooms.
  • There is no play area.

The play area at London City Airport

Birmingham

  • Changing facilities can be found in each terminal before and after security.
  • Most of the changing areas also have baby feeding areas as well.
  • There are two Sky Zone play areas. In the South Lounge this is near Gate 3 and in the North Lounge it is by Gate 54.

Manchester

  • Baby changing facilities can be found before and after security either inside or near the ladies' toilets.
  • The baby changing rooms include chairs so they can be used as  feeding rooms. In Terminal 1 there is a dedicated breastfeeding room in the departure lounge.
  • In Terminal 1 there is a Children's TV zone. In Terminal 2 there is a Children's play area near Cafe Nero.

Doncaster

  • Baby changing is available in all toilet facilities. 
  • There are also dedicated baby care rooms but you need to ask to be directed to these.
  • There are games grids throughout the airport for kids and there is a children's play are near the customer services desk.

Liverpool

  • There are dedicated baby changing throughout the airport.
  • There is new changing facilities with a feeding room on the Upper Retail Level,
  • There currently no dedicated play areas.

East Midlands

  • There is dedicated baby changing throughout the airport.
  • There is a dedicated soft play area in near the food court.

Newcastle

  • There are four baby changing facilities available. Two before security and two after. 
  • No mention of any baby feeding facilities.
  • There is a Namco Games arcade which is suitable for older kids. In the Aspire lounge there are Play pods for little ones.

Edinburgh

  • There are baby changing rooms in UK arrivals near Costa, before security near WH Smiths on the first floor and after security near Gate 11. Also near the international baggage reclaim. These rooms all have a chair in them so that they can be used as infant feeding rooms. Be warned that there are not toilet facilities for you in here.
  • Brand new soft play areas near Gate 2 and Gate 15.

Glasgow

  • Before security and on the first floor near the foodcourt. After security next to starbucks and the BA lounge. Gates 1-3 & 10 -11 also have some. 
  • There is a play area found after security near WH Smiths. There are also puzzle tables throughout the terminal. Another option is to buy tickets to visit the Upper deck on the top floor which has a kids zone and a games centre.
