I’m Cyran {Ki-ran} I’m mama to Poppy (4), I’m a lawyer and influencer. I mainly blog about fashion, career, motherhood – general general lifestyle stuff really! Poppy features with my sometimes, my Instagram is a good snapshot of the best bits on the blog.

I’m a born and bred Londoner and grew up in South East London, so know that area like the back of my hand. Since having my daughter we’re now at the north end of London.

I like to take Pops to places I visited as a child, we eat out lots, visit family and jump on the tube/DLR/train to get around.

My recommendations are a mix of North and South London and South Hertfordshire.

Favourite places to eat: High-Street: Giraffe, Carluccios, Pizza Express, Yo! Sushi

Ivy Cafe, Blackheath or Tower Bridge (great views, sit upstairs)

The Glasshouse at The Grove Hotel, Gerrards Cross.

The Albion, Shoreditch

Toulouse All Day Dining Cafe, Bushey

Poppy also loves a “picnic” and eating alfresco, so sometimes we’ll grab something to eat whilst we’re at the park (usually cucumber maki and edamame).

Favourite places to go: 1. ZSL London Zoo or ZSL Whipsnade Zoo; we’re members as its such good value for money. My recommendation is to take the kiddie’s scooters, especially to Whipsnade, the pathways are huge so its a great place for them to practice. There is also a small soft play at Whipsnade where you can shelter from rain. London is more compact but there are a few fairground rides which Poppy loves.

2. Greenwich Park; I went to school in Greenwich so I remember school sports days here and family days out. I learned to ride my bike here so I take Poppy all the time. Try and find the secret garden if you have time, and take ‘that shot’ at the top of the park outside of the Observatory – you can see the whole of London pretty much! Take some monkey nuts to feed the squirrels, they’re so tame, this is one of Poppy’s favourite thing to do.

3. Surrey Docks Farm; a great city farm on a cycle path along the Thames opposite Canary Wharf. It’s small but you can get up close to the animals as they’re in one big open pen, we really like it here.

4. National Portrait Gallery, I think its the size of the huge paintings compared to her, I love watching Poppy in here. She wants the story behind each one! She’s scared of some and likes other, but it’s a fun afternoon out and the cafe is really good to.

5. Natural History Museum; last but by no means least! We love this place, we do a section each time we come, I wouldn’t try to do it all unless you live really far away because its a bit much. The Cocoon is our favourite exhibition to visit.

Favourite places to shop for your little one: High-street: Zara, Next, H&M, Marks and Spencer, John Lewis, Reserved

Local boutiques: Sadie Lanes (Greenwich)

Online: Alex and Alexa, Boden, Children’s Salon

Favourite classes or groups: As Poppy is at nursery and I work, we don’t do many groups nowadays! But I loved Tappy Toes, which was a pre-schooler dance class based on ballet – so cute!

Any other local tips?: We take colouring pens and pencils and small colouring books everywhere in Poppy’s rucksack. Whenever we stay at hotels we take the little pad of paper for the room to put in there too, if we’re on the tube or train or waiting for our meal in a restaurant, she can colour instead of watching my phone. It works (most of the time!)
